Make: FPGAs: Turning Software into Hardware : 2016 Book (4/5 Amazon)
This book has helpful information about Xilinx FPGAs, however it needs a lot of work. I found a number of errors, and it looks that the author is making assumptions about the reader because he teaches some fundamental terms while assuming others. The material is useful, however it is not properly arranged. This book uses a variety of boards to demonstrate concepts and only uses the examples that come with the boards. If you want to learn Verilog, "Advanced Chip Design, Practical Examples in Verilog" is a better choice. There are also articles accessible for free, such as this one: [...] The following (English) papers for FPGA boards are included with this Xilinx board: Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA Starter Board (XC6SLX9) You won't learn how to write RTL hardware descriptions in this book.
